I’ve grouped these two little rippers together due to them being from the same publisher, being published so close together, and being the same size and format and both boasting a similarly bright, happy, accessible look and vibe.
Baked in One comes from Eloise Head – also known online as Fitwaffle for reasons superfluous to our needs to know – and concentrates on desserts which can be baked in one, ie, in one tray at a time rather than individually. Cue lots of brownies, slices, cheesecake bars, cookie bars, chocolate bark, fudges and tray cakes.
Crumbs & Doilies is courtesy of Jemma Wilson of the iconic London bakery of the same name, and she offers a myriad of her favourite cake icings, cupcake recipes – including some surprises (baklava cupcakes, Key Lime Pie, Miso caramel – tray bakes (more brownies and blondies and cheesecakes and more more more), not to mention some crazy cookies (Velvet Volcano! Apple Crumble!) and cakes (Matcha & Black Sesame, and plenty more).
Photography throughout is colourful and full of wow, as are the designs and recipes in both books. In short – two accessible and positive tomes to dive into to continue your baking adventures.
