SHANE WINS 2nd PRIZE IN THE BOULDER 125th ANNIVERSARY SHORT STORY COMPETITION!

I’m very excited to share that I won second prize in the BOULDER 125th ANNIVERSARY SHORT STORY COMPETITION!

The rules were simple: Write a story less than 2000 words long, using this photo prompt.

My entry, titled Rourke’s Find, concerns itself with young Ardhal Rourke, who finds, along with his father and uncle, a huge gold nugget in their mine on the Boulder gold field. Ardhal feels guilty after pocketing a smaller nugget but soon has more to worry about, when the Morgan brothers try to take their find by force.

Thankyou to the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder for running the competition and selecting Rourke’s Find for second place!
